The Next Step of Faith: MIA Caravan!
Connecting with Our Church Partners and Counselors
For the last few months, we have been traveling around the country to reconnect with many of our church partners and our counselors. We have held youth meetings, conferences, and Evangelism training with many of these churches and even had a team traveling in the west part of the country to meet with countless pastors and church partners.
Our goal is to support these church plants, their youth, and help them and their ministry. We are planning to hold MIA Caravans with many churches this summer – teaching them how to hold a camp on their own in the future. We want to teach these counselors how to minister to their communities without us having to come to them to hold events. It is our hope that these counselors who attend these churches and lead Bible studies would begin meeting in person at the churches and come together to host weekly youth meetings.
A Year of Equipping our Counselors
This past year has been about equipping our youth to be able to minister and serve their peers and communities. In years prior, we are the ones traveling across the country to host a Sport Tournament or getting everyone to come to us for a week of MIA College or a Champions Weekend. At the hardest times of the pandemic, we turned to our counselors to empower them to be the hands and feet of Jesus by leading online Bible studies. We have trained them in the past and we vowed to continue to train them along the way, but it was time for the sowed seeds of our ministry to be harvested and reproduced.
It has been overwhelming and beautiful to watch God take this ounce of faith our staff has had in these counselors and show us that everything is in His hands and His timing. We are proud of them as they have grown in their leadership skills and dedication to the Lord and reaching their peers. Now we want to take it a step forward in encouraging them to hold youth meetings and other events at their church without us.
So What’s Next? MIA Caravan!
With covid cases continuing to rise here in Romania, we feel that having our traditional overnight camps this summer is not the wisest decision. Instead, we have decided to host MIA Caravan, a “Backyard Bible Club” – style camp across the country. This way, all our activities will be held outside, the youth will sleep at home, and only lunch will be provided. Our plan is to do MIA Caravan with churches where our counselors attend, so we will help build their churches and strengthen our partnerships with the Romanian pastors. If the campers can’t come to us, we will go to them!
Even if you are unable to come to Romania this summer, there is still a way your church can have a personal impact and investment in our MIA Caravan. We need church partners like you to adopt a camp! Each location costs us $3,000. Would you be able to adopt one?
What Does it Mean to Adopt a MIA Caravan?
Either way, if you and your church choose to adopt a full week of MIA Caravan or you individually donate a smaller amount, you will be assigned to a specific camp you are adopting financially. With your support, you will be providing for all the expenses of the week. Not only will you be supporting us financially, but you will have the opportunity to get to know the camp location, the church and pastor, the counselors serving there, and the children who will attend the camp. We will send you an informational packet on this location and how you and your church can partner with us by praying for this specific village church and their community.
