Andrei Stanciu

Hello, my name is Andrei Stanciu and I grew up in a christian family with eleven other brothers and sisters.

Since I was a small child, my parents took me to church and spent much time in prayer for me.

Until the age of fourteen, I lived a very regular life, like all the other children who went to church with me. My belief was that as long as I didn’t use vulgar language and never stole anything from anyone, I was going to be just fine in life.

My father used to work in construction when I was growing up. I used to spend my summers working with him to make some money. One day, while working, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors said that he had a heart attack and that it was possible that he was going to die soon, unless we could get him to a more specialized hospital for surgery. But even so, they would not be held liable if he died will driving to the hospital. It was then that I realized that on God could save my dad. So I started to pray for him together with our brothers and sisters as well as others from the church and praise be to the Lord because He healed my dad and saved his life!

I was baptized on the 27th of August in 2008. Shortly after that, my father fell ill again and he had to be operated on. Before going to the hospital he called all of us and told us, “I am on my way to the hospital now, but I do not know whether I will be back or not, but I want you all to remain on the path of Christhood”. These words made a huge impact on my life, and they are following me even now, after all these years.

Fortunately, my father is still alive and I thank God for this, even though he cannot work anymore. After all these experiences I have seen a spiritual growth in me. I started to get involved in my church, in Sunday school. However, after a while I started to feel discouraged and hurt by those around me. I felt a hole in my heart which I was trying to fill in with material things, but I just couldn’t do it. I was saying, “God, why should I live if I cannot be useful for your work?”

Meanwhile, I had just recently received my drivers license. One night I was driving home from the church and, as it was raining, I was involved in a serious car accident. At that moment I realized I was not ready to face God, and I was praying that nobody got hurt because of me. I knew that I could not live with myself if someone had been killed in that accident.

It was then when I realized that I was a sinner and that I desperately needed God. If I had died then, I don’t believe I would have gone to heaven. I didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. From that moment, a real change started to be seen in my life.

In 2013, God opened a door for me to work with Life Romania at Camp MIA. It was then when I realized God had many plans for me and I received answers to my prayers. I knew then that I had to tell the others about salvation through Jesus Christ. It was in this camp when I first heard about the Institute from Hungary and I knew God answered my prayers and now I could learn more about Him and how to tell others about Him if I had a chance to go there.

Since then, my will is to serve God, to know Him more and more and to thank Him for what He invested in me and that He will be by my side until eternity.
