I was born in Bucharest, Romania as the only child of an Orthodox family. At the age of nine my father passed away. It was a very hard time for me. My mother and I were living in my paternal grandfather's apartment. One year after my father passed away, my grandfather told my mother that we would have to leave. From that moment everything became even more difficult.
We went to live with my maternal grandmother in her small one-room apartment. It was very crowded, as my uncle and his dog were already living there with her. It was a very difficult period for me and my mother. After six months an aunt invited us to come to Timisoara, on the other side of Romania. She was leaving the country and offered to allow us to stay in her apartment rent-free while she was away. Although this was a great blessing, it was hard to move to a new school all the way across the country. After ten months my aunt returned home and moved back into her apartment.
We remained in Timisoara and that following year was important for me because I met a boy in my class who was a Christian. Of course I didn't know what that meant at the time. After we got to know one another he invited me to a youth meeting. I decided to go and found myself in church for the first time. It was something new for me and I liked it. He invited me again so I kept going. After a period of time he gave me a Bible and kept telling me about God.
When I was 15 years old I received Jesus Christ into my heart at a youth meeting. At the age of 16 I starting serving in summer camps as a volunteer on the sports team. I am now attending the Word of Life Bible Institute in Hungary and continue to serve in youth ministry through LIFE Romania. Now I can say that if my father had not died and my grandfather had not forced us to go away from home, maybe Jesus Christ would never have come into my life. Even though it was very hard for me, the love of God kept working in my life. I am so thankful that I now have eternal life. My passion is to share the gospel with everyone through this ministry that God has given me.
